As one who has been personally touched by addiction and self-destructive behaviors, it is my passionate desire to see individuals overcome self-destructive thinking and behaviors that keep them from creating a purposeful life. Although we focus on children and teens 5 to 20 years of age, we work with the families as well to increase the likelihood of breaking the chains of disfunction caused by addiction and self-destructive behaviors. Having witnessed families, marriages, friendships, and other intimate relationships devastated by the pain of these behaviors, I possess an even more intense desire to help those who are not addicted themselves, but who have loved ones that are ensnared in the trap of addiction and lack of critical thinking skills. Today children and teens are an at-risk population to be trapped in addiction and develop self-destructive behaviors. My main purpose is to bring encouragement and hope to our children, the friend, family member, spouse, and loved one of the children or teens at risk but most of all to empower these children and teens to be accountable for their actions and change their destructive behaviors. Below we address in our services some areas we can assist families and county agents in preparing children for holistic change through life skill training to challenge thinking of each child and the family that supports their journey to recovery and ultimately leads them to positive lifestyle change together.
